Sliding gate or swing gate?

When to use a roll-up door and when to use a sliding door? Advantages and disadvantages demonstrated in one project.

Here is an example of the use of both types of entrances. Sliding doors with a steel support frame and a fabric curtain are ideal for entrances that are opened and closed frequently. A simple solution with a suspended rail makes it easy to operate the entrance. However, if you want to save money and do not need to close the entrance frequently, a roll-up door, i.e., a curtain suspended on a rail that can be easily rolled up and locked when closed, will serve you well.

Product line Forum ALFA

The Bratislava-based company Canstav took advantage of both options. The main entrance is secured by sliding doors for frequent use, and the side entrance by a roll-up tarpaulin, which is used only for occasional access. The 12x35m tarpaulin hall with a side wall height of 5m in unobtrusive gray cladding thus meets all the parameters for storing building materials.
